I purchased my first pair of Aquazzura shoes last year while visiting my sister Siobhan in Dubai. No shoe lover can make a trip to Dubai without a visit to Level Shoe District. Shoe paradise.
To be honest I have been keeping out of the shops lately. Found myself in Bahrain City Centre yesterday, while my daughter and friends were having a little look around. I had a free hour and a half to do a bit of window-shopping and check out the sales. First port of call was to Saks. So my heart skipped a beat when I saw Aquazzura, finally on our little island and sitting there on the shelf. No need to shop on line. They are an expensive luxury brand. But one could still be inspired. Similar looks in Zara at a fraction of the cost.
So a little about the label. It’s created in Florence by designer Edgardo Osorio. Aquazzura mixes a refined European aesthetic, with modern American sensibility and Latin flair.
Born in Colombia and raised between Miami and London, Edgardo Osorio combines his eye for drop-dead glamour, his passion for modern design, and his hand for highluxe craft into desirable footwear. After attending the London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins, he made his first strides in the footwear world with the most prestigious luxury brands such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Sigerson Morrison, René Caovilla and recently with Roberto Cavalli, as well as more high street labels. In 2011 after working in the industry for 10 years, he launches AQUAZZURA.
Happy to see they have finally made it to Bahrain.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
